Throughout these extraordinary times we wanted to connect with you all to let you know how we are managing the current situation.

Burts would like to reassure all of our customers that we are fully committed to adhering the advice from Public Health England regarding the Coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak. We will therefore be following their recommendations, guidance and protocols in every area of our business at this uncertain time.

The well-being of our customers and colleagues is of utmost priority to us and we therefore aim to mitigate any risks and prevent the spread of this infection wherever possible.

All of our staff have been briefed on current legal requirements and best practice and are receiving regular updates.

All staff who are able to work from home are doing so, and we have implemented a skeleton work pattern to reduce the numbers of staff in our building. 

We are monitoring our staff as much as possible and have asked each individual to report any feeling of unwell or any other medical symptoms.

We have increased our own cleaning regime in our offices and have provided hand sanitising gel and gloves which we are all using regularly. We are also practising safe distance techniques throughout our building.

In addition we are only using couriers to dispatch goods. Each courier has implemented their own safe practice when arriving onto site, we are complying fully. Our building is locked down so other than our employees on their shift we are not allowing anyone into the building.

Inline with our couriers and government guidance a revised delivery procedure has been implemented:

  • If the recipient customer refuses to sign for a delivery on the hand held, the driver will enter their name and enter CV (Coronavirus) in the signature field.
  • the Customer will still have the opportunity at delivery point to confirm any damage or missing parcel. This cannot be reported through the Claims Process at a later date.
  • The CV signature will be classed as a clear signature unless endorsed otherwise.
  • Claims will be processed in line with our normal terms and conditions below, but as stated above the POD will be classed as a clear signature unless endorsed otherwise
  • Any queries relating to deliveries must be asked PRIOR to placing an order. 

We are currently operating as closely to normal as possible and are still able to process and dispatch ALL orders.

We remain committed to supporting our customers and we will continue to monitor the situation as it evolves.
